Joyful Sound Quartet was formed in the summer of 2008 when four long-time friends decided to join together for the common purpose of singing barbershop harmonies. With the first ringing chord, Joyful Sound set out on an exciting journey to share their talent with others. In the weeks and months that followed, it became evident that they all felt a pull toward gospel music.
Their roots are in gospel music, and these roots are the foundation of the quartet, but they also perform other genres of music as well. Their blend of gospel, contemporary, swing, and barbershop standards are sure to please any audience. They are members of the Gospel Music Artists Association of Texas having been nominated in 2014 and 2016 for Group of the Year honors. In addition, they are members of Sweet Adelines International - an organization of a cappella quartets and choruses dedicated to the barbershop harmony style. The members of Joyful Sound Quartet have been performing in and around the DFW area for over 20 years.
