Lone Star Chorus is located in Fort Worth, Texas. We are part of the Great Gulf Coast Region 10 of Sweet Adelines International which includes choruses from Texas and Louisiana. Sweet Adelines International is a highly respected worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. More information about worldwide barbershop organizations can be found on the Links page.
Lone Star Chorus was organized in 1993 from a merger of three choruses. Our membership consists of 55 women of different musical backgrounds. We are an award winning chorus having represented Region 10 as an international competitor in 2003 and 2005. We were most recently recognized in March 2009 as the first-place mid-size chorus for Region 10, an honor which allows us to compete in October 2010 against the world's top 5 highest scoring choruses at the Harmony Classic in Seattle, Washington. Our progress requires commitment from our members, who already have busy professional and family lives! Yet we have found that Lone Star Chorus not only entertains people – it also provides a getaway for our members and a chance to socialize with other musical women.
We rely on our experienced Master Director, Xanna Williamson, and leadership team to guide our singing to new levels of excellence.
