Lee Tayon (tenor)
Lee Tayon adds the high notes as the tenor of Joyful Sound. She has been singing all of her life in school and church choirs, as well as various other gospel groups. She is an active member of
Sweet Adeline's International and the Lone Star Chorus. Lee is a certified director and has many years of quartet experience resulting in regional medals and numerous top 10 finishes. She considers her voice a gift from God and uses it whenever possible to the glory of her Lord and Savior. She is the proud mother of two grown children and their wonderful spouses, Memaw to a handsome grandson, and a beautiful granddaughter, and the wife to her best friend Rodney, of over 30 years. When not singing, she enjoys all types of crafting and recently retired after 27 years as an Executive Assistant at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Joyful Sound lead, Becky Loveday, is the oldest daughter of Pastor Sam O'Toole & his wife,
Gloria. Becky's singing foundation was firmly rooted in Southern gospel where she sang in many church choirs, trio's and gospel quartets. Becky's love of singing harmony led her to find Lone Star Chorus and the barbershop craft which she has enjoyed singing for more than 18 years. Her joy of singing resulted in her receiving a third place quartet medal at the regional level. Becky currently serves as Musical Director for Lone Star Chorus. She has one son, Rex, and his beautiful wife Tasha. She loves spending time with her grandchildren: Phoenix, Olivia, and Landon. Becky currently works as a bookkeeper and completed a personal goal of obtaining her Associates Degree in Accounting in 2010. Becky is grateful for the wonderful heritage that has given her such a wonderful and strong foundation upon which to live. She knows her voice is a gift from God and has dedicated its use to share His love through music with people all over the world.
Trudie Case, baritone of Joyful Sound, began her singing career in church with her mom, dad, and sisters. Her dad was never without a song, and her Mom made the piano sing. Both parents
encouraged them to sing the great old hymns. Concert Choir in school was the next step, and then her love of harmony brought her to Sweet Adelines International where she began her barbershop career in 1984 with Skyline Chorus in Denver, Colorado. She has considerable quartet experience, having earned a 4th place regional medal as well as an award for Most Improved Quartet in 2003. Trudie currently serves as a member of the Music Staff of Lone Star Chorus. Besides her obvious vocal talents, she is an accomplished seamstress, embroiderer, quilt maker, and business owner.
Marilyn Hanna (bass)
Adding the mellow bass notes for Joyful Sound is Marilyn Hanna. Marilyn is a bookkeeper by trade, but recentlly traded this is to become an Amazon entrepaneur. Marilyn is married to her best friend, Bill and between them they have one son, three daughters and seven grandchildren. Marilyn holds the distinction of being a both a daughter AND the mother of Assembly of God pastors! She has been singing almost since she could walk, first with her musical family and later with a women's a cappella chorus where she met the other members of Joyful Sound almost 20 years ago. She recently returned to JSQ after a four year hiatus from the group.
